Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) quarterback Corwin "Turtle" Cutler has verbally committed to the University of Virginia, which has now compiled seven commitments in the class of 2013. Cutler, a 6'3", 190-pound junior, chose the 'Hoos over serious interest from Boston College, Rutgers, South Florida, Virginia Tech, and more.

The Virginia baseball team came within one out of a home sweep over Georgia Tech this past weekend. But, like the UC Irvine Super Regional game last year, baseball is a game of 27 outs, not 26, and the Hoos lost the finale 5-4 in 10 innings. Now, the Hoos travel to College Park to face the Maryland Terrapins in the final ACC series of the 2012 season beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m. Here is a brief scouting report on the Terps.

South Iredell (Statesville, N.C.) junior LaChaston Smith was on Grounds this past weekend, making his first ever visit to the University of Virginia. The 6'0", 221-pound linebacker prospect experienced quite a bit, including one-on-one time with UVa head coach Mike London.

Playing on the varsity level was a bit of an adjustment, Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) sophomore CJ Reavis admits. The standout safety/linebacker prospect learned quickly, however, and has earned three BCS scholarship offers as a result of his play.
